January 22, 2024 – Fresh details have emerged about HMD Global’s upcoming smartphones, the TA-1585 and the N159V, which are slated to be the company’s first self-branded devices targeted at the mass market following the release of the M-Kopa X1 custom phone.
According to renowned leakster Evan Blass, HMD Global is collaborating with Verizon, a leading US carrier, to launch a contract version of the TA-1585 smartphone in the United States. This partnership could potentially expand HMD Global’s reach and make its devices more accessible to a wider audience.
Furthermore, some specifications of the TA-1585 have been discovered in an XML file on HMD Global’s website. The document reveals that the phone will sport a screen with a resolution of 1080×2400, indicating a potential difference in specs compared to what was previously speculated as a rebranded version of the “Nokia C22.”
Earlier today, reports suggested that the first two self-branded phones from HMD Global have already made an appearance on platforms like Geekbench and EUIPO, revealing their benchmark scores and design elements. The overall positioning of these devices seems to be in the mid-to-low range segment, catering to a large section of the market.
