September 29, 2026 – After nearly a month of speculation, Huawei has officially confirmed the launch schedule for the Mate 90 series. The company announced that the Mate 90 series will be unveiled at 10:00 a.m. on October 1, with sales opening across all channels at 12:08 p.m. the same day — meaning the phones will be available immediately after the announcement, without a lengthy pre-order wait.
This “launch-and-sell” cadence is relatively rare for Huawei flagships. In the past, the Mate series typically held a press event first, with shipments following days or even one to two weeks later. The immediate availability suggests that Huawei’s stock preparation for this generation is more ample than in previous years.
Feedback from dealers also supports this view. According to reports, Mate 90 units had already begun arriving at offline stores nationwide after September 25, with devices ready for sale pending the official announcement.

On the design front, repeated real-device leaks in recent weeks have left little suspense. The Mate 90 series continues the metal-and-glass back structure that was well received on the Mate 60 series, while retaining the signature star-ring camera module. Overall build quality is said to be a step above the previous generation.
The full lineup is expected to include five models: Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition, and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. The top-tier RS version adopts a bold two-tone design never before used on Huawei flagships, making it particularly eye-catching for users seeking a distinctive look.
Storage configurations have also been clarified. The Mate 90 will offer 12+256GB, 12+512GB, and 12+1TB versions in black, white, pink, and green. The Mate 90 Pro adds a 16GB memory option and an orange colorway. The Mate 90 Pro Max starts at 16GB memory and is offered in 16+512GB and 16+1TB configurations, with an optional photography kit for professional imaging users. The Mate 90 RS also starts at 16+512GB and comes in exclusive black, white, and red finishes. Notably, the entire series drops the 8GB entry-level memory configuration, with all models starting at 12GB and higher-end versions at 16GB.
In short, the Mate 90 series presents a clear product ladder, from the more accessible standard model to the ultra-premium RS edition. Combined with same-day sales availability, the October 1 launch timing positions the phones to capture demand during the National Day holiday upgrade wave.
Pricing remains unconfirmed. Earlier rumors suggested that high-end models could increase by around 1,000 yuan, but official pricing will be revealed at the October 1 event.
