October 23, 2026 – BYD has released the first official interior images of the second-generation Seal 07, a mid-size sedan that has already been listed in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology catalog and will be offered in both plug-in hybrid and battery-electric versions.
The cabin adopts a wraparound layout with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a full digital instrument cluster and a floating central touchscreen. BYD has added practical touches such as a single-side wireless charging pad and a dedicated tissue storage box. Comfort equipment includes zero-gravity front seats with massage, ventilation and heating, plus a 20-speaker Devialet audio system.

Externally, the car follows BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 design language, with a closed front grille, wave-shaped headlamps similar to those on the Seal 08, semi-hidden door handles, dense-spoke wheels and a wave-style full-width tail lamp. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit indicates the model will support the Tianyan Zhiyan B advanced driver-assistance system.
The biggest upgrade is size. The new Seal 07 measures 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, with a 2,960 mm wheelbase, larger than the current model in length, width and wheelbase. BYD says this gives the car class-leading rear-seat space, an important selling point for family buyers in the mid-size sedan segment.
On the powertrain side, the plug-in hybrid version pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 115 kW with a 160 kW electric motor and a 38.029 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 245 km of pure-electric range under the WLTC cycle. The electric version is equipped with a 300 kW drive motor, with additional battery and range details still to be confirmed.
The second-generation Seal 07 shows BYD pushing its mid-size sedan offering upmarket through larger dimensions, richer comfort equipment and LiDAR-based driver assistance, while keeping the flexibility of both PHEV and EV powertrains. Pricing has not been announced yet.
