BYD’s Denza Z9GT Lands in Hong Kong as First Model With Second-Gen Blade Battery and Flash Charging

October 26,2026 – BYD’s flagship Denza Z9GT has officially entered the Hong Kong market with a price of HK$998,000 (about RMB 852,000), positioning the model as a high-end electric GT for local buyers.

The car was unveiled at a launch event in Victoria Harbour, where 2,000 drones staged a light show highlighting the Denza brand and the Z9GT’s core technologies.

The Hong Kong version is the first model in the city to feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast flash-charging technology. It uses a 1,000V high-voltage platform and a 122.5 kWh battery pack, allowing the battery to reach 70% in about five minutes and 97% in about nine minutes under suitable conditions. The three-motor setup delivers a peak output of 850 kW and a 0–100 km/h time of 2.7 seconds.

It also carries the Yi San Fang intelligent vehicle control system, which combines three independent drive motors with rear-wheel independent steering. This enables a 4.62-meter turning radius, crab walking and tight-space parking assistance despite the car’s large size.

The Z9GT is already sold in mainland China at a much lower price, where the three-motor electric version starts around RMB 329,800 to RMB 369,800. The higher Hong Kong price mainly reflects local vehicle registration taxes, which resumed at normal progressive rates for electric cars after the tax concession ended in March 2026.

In Hong Kong, the Z9GT will compete with premium electric GTs such as the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS, while also serving as a showcase for Denza’s technology in a right-hand-drive, high-end market.
