September 23, 2024 – According to the latest Power On newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Siri, equipped with Apple Intelligence and undergoing a complete redesign, is expected to roll out earlier than anticipated. Although it might not be a comprehensive experience initially, some features could be introduced ahead of schedule.
Gurman has shed light on the release timeline of Apple Intelligence capabilities, revealing an intriguing detail: certain new Siri functionalities might arrive with iOS 18.3 instead of the previously speculated iOS 18.4.
“iOS 18.4 will be the biggest update after iOS 18.1, encompassing numerous new Siri features, some of which, I’ve heard, are being considered for iOS 18.3,” Gurman stated. This suggests that we could potentially get a taste of the redesigned Siri by January next year, as iOS x.3 versions typically drop in January, while iOS x.4 versions emerge in March.

Furthermore, Gurman provided insights into the development timelines and release dates of other iOS 18-related versions:
iOS 18.1 is anticipated to be completed internally this week, with a release slated for mid-October.
iOS 18.2 is expected to wrap up internally in early November, followed by a December launch.
iOS 18.3, predicted to be finalized before the year ends, will be released in January.
iOS 18.4, foreseen to reach completion in early February, is set for a March debut.
iOS 18.1 will usher in the initial wave of Apple Intelligence offerings, including a streamlined Siri update (featuring a new interface and swifter responses), writing tools, photo cleanup capabilities, and notification summaries. Subsequently, iOS 18.2 is predicted to introduce Image Playground, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration.
