September 21, 2024 – Sam Kohl, the host of the YouTube channel AppleTrack, conducted a drop test on the iPhone 16 Pro in Australia on September 20th and compared it to the iPhone 15 Pro.
According to Kohl, one issue he noticed with the iPhone 16 Pro is its thin bezels. As a result, the display panel of the 16 Pro becomes very fragile when subjected to impacts such as corner hits or other collisions that barely touch the screen edges. He also pointed out that it is significantly more vulnerable than the 15 Pro.
During additional testing, Sam observed that, compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, the damage to the iPhone 16 Pro was “not as severe overall.”
Another YouTube channel, TechRax, also performed a durability test on the iPhone 16 Pro using a hammer and a knife. However, this video leaned more towards violent destruction, which may not serve much practical purpose.
