July 31, 2024 – Following weeks of allegations regarding excessive data scraping, AI search company Perplexity has announced a new collaborative initiative to share advertising revenue with its publishing partners.
Known as the “Publisher Program,” Perplexity has already enlisted its first wave of partners, which include prestigious names such as Time, Der Spiegel, Fortune, Entrepreneur, The Texas Tribune, and Automattic (including WordPress.com, but excluding Tumblr).

Under this program, whenever Perplexity displays content from these publishers in response to user queries, the publishers will receive a portion of the advertising revenue generated.
Additionally, the publishing partners will be granted a free one-year subscription to Perplexity’s Enterprise Professional Edition, access to its developer tools, and insights via Scalepost.ai.
