September 8, 2026 – Alibaba announced today the launch of its digital employee product, QoderWake 1.0. Users can describe their job requirements in a single sentence, and QoderWake will generate a corresponding role document.
After modification and confirmation, the system can create a digital employee that fully understands job responsibilities, collaboration relationships, and work permissions.
QoderWake comes pre-loaded with 10 standard roles, including front-end developers, back-end developers, product managers, content operators, data analysts, project administrators, and UI designers. Each role has been specifically fine-tuned and integrates the expertise of industry-leading teams, enabling them to handle real-world tasks without the need for specialized training.
Users can also customize their digital employees by defining core responsibilities, work styles, workflows, and safety red lines, as well as providing core business materials.
Furthermore, QoderWake has seamlessly integrated with three major mainstream IM platforms: DingTalk, Feishu (Lark), and WeCom. It can access organizational documents, spreadsheets, to-do lists, calendars, organizational charts, and multi-dimensional tables. Discussions, attachments, and confirmed terminologies within DingTalk and Feishu group chats can serve as continuously updated knowledge for the digital employees.
Additionally, QoderWake digital employees operate with clear boundaries. The system defaults to intercepting high-risk operations and will request user authorization when predefined rules are triggered. These digital employees can collaborate with human staff to complete tasks in real-world work scenarios.
Over the past three months, nearly 100,000 digital employees have been deployed in real-world work scenarios on QoderWake, completing approximately 2 million valid tasks.
