Steve Jobs’ Venus Yacht Collides With Billionaire’s Lady Moura Off the Coast of Naples

August 10, 2024 – A collision between two luxurious yachts occurred near the coast of Naples, Italy, on Wednesday, as reported by Forbes. One of the vessels involved was the Venus, owned by the late Steve Jobs.

In this maritime mishap, the Venus, a sleek and extravagant yacht once belonging to the Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, collided with Lady Moura, the vessel of Mexican retail and broadcasting tycoon Ricardo Salinas Pliego.

Salinas, who boasts a net worth of approximately $10 billion, shared a video on Instagram capturing the moment of impact. In the clip, the Venus can be seen slowly grazing the side of Lady Moura before drifting sideways.

The video suggests that despite attempts by Lady Moura’s crew to alert the Venus through horn blasts and shouts, the crew of the latter vessel was unable to intervene swiftly to prevent the collision.

In the video, Salinas expressed his dismay, questioning, “I wonder what the captain and crew were doing, not seeing such a huge yacht. Well, it seems there are still idiots in the world.”

Salinas revealed that the incident left a “long and significant scratch” on Lady Moura’s hull, indicating that the cost of repairs would be considerable. The 344-foot Lady Moura was docked at the time of the collision. Both Salinas and Laurene Powell Jobs, Jobs’ widow, were not present on their respective yachts during the incident.
