Samsung Unveils Groundbreaking OLEDoS Screen for XR Headsets at CES 2024

January 10, 2024 – In a notable development at CES 2024, Samsung Display unveiled a cutting-edge screen destined for XR headsets. This innovative display marks a world-first, boasting an OLEDoS (OLED on Silicon) production process that incorporates an RGB sub-pixel structure.

The showcased screen measures 1.03 inches diagonally and sports a square design. What’s more, it packs an impressive pixel density of 3500 ppi, promising exceptional clarity.

While Samsung has kept the exact resolution under wraps, tech enthusiasts at GSMArena have crunched the numbers and estimate it to be around 2550 x 2550.

Thanks to the elimination of a separate light source and the utilization of OLED technology, Samsung pledges an immersive visual experience with lifelike colors and deep blacks.

It’s worth noting that Samsung Display has not officially disclosed the screen’s refresh rate. However, rumors are circulating that it might clock in at 90Hz, though this remains unconfirmed.
