NVIDIA CEO: Blackwell Demand ‘Truly Astonishing’

February 27, 2025 – NVIDIA today released its financial report, anticipating a significant surge in its first-quarter revenue, further highlighting the robust demand for AI chips. Additionally, the company revealed that the order volume for its new Blackwell semiconductors has been “amazing.”

However, NVIDIA’s prediction for the gross margin in the current quarter is slightly below market expectations, attributed to the margin pressure caused by the expansion of Blackwell chip production. The company forecasts a gross margin of 71% for the first quarter, falling short of Wall Street’s prediction of 72.2%.

According to CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, “The demand for Blackwell is truly astonishing. We have successfully achieved mass production of Blackwell AI supercomputers and generated billions of dollars in sales during the first quarter.”

In the fourth quarter, NVIDIA’s Blackwell-related product revenue reached $11 billion, accounting for approximately 50% of the company’s overall data center revenue.

CFO Kress stated that as NVIDIA ramps up production of Blackwell chips, the company aims to gradually reduce costs and enhance gross margins. He projects that NVIDIA will return to a gross margin of mid-70% later in the fiscal year.

NVIDIA expects first-quarter revenue to be 43billion,witha±241.78 billion.
