January 20, 2025 – In his “Power On” newsletter, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has revealed that inventories of the iPhone SE are “rapidly dwindling” at multiple Apple retail stores across the United States. Gurman interprets this as a “credible indicator” that a new model is imminent.
Currently, the existing iPhone SE (third generation) remains available for purchase on Apple’s official website.

Notably, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously forecasted that the iPhone SE 4 would be released in the first quarter of 2025, suggesting a potential official launch in March or April this year, aligning with the historical release pattern of all iPhone SE models.
According to reports, the upcoming iPhone SE will adopt a design similar to the base iPhone 14. Rumored features include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID facial recognition, a USB-C port, a 48-megapixel rear single camera, an updated A-series chip, and 8GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence functionalities. Additionally, it will reportedly be the first iPhone SE to integrate Apple’s in-house 5G modem.
In contrast, the current iPhone SE bears a resemblance to the iPhone 8, featuring a Touch ID fingerprint sensor button, a Lightning port, and relatively wide screen borders that give it a more outdated appearance. The starting price for the existing model stands at 3,499 yuan, but there are expectations that the new variant may see a slight price increase.
