May 05, 2024 – According to a recent report from Wall Street, Apple is planning to finalize the design of its Vision Standard Edition, a more affordable version of the Vision Pro, by October of this year.
The upcoming device is rumored to weigh approximately 400 grams, which is roughly two-thirds the weight of the Vision Pro. Preparations are underway in the supply chain to produce these devices in the millions. Initially slated for a release in autumn 2025, Apple may potentially move the launch date up to June 2025.
Apple introduced the Vision Pro at the Worldwide Developers Conference last June, priced at $3,499. The device hit the US market on February 2nd but has yet to expand to other markets.
The Vision Pro boasts an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a brand-new R1 chip,统一 equipped with 16GB of memory. This high-tech headset can process inputs from 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones, offering a memory bandwidth of 256GB/s. Utilizing micro-OLED technology, Apple Vision Pro packs 23 million pixels into two tiny displays, supporting a wide color gamut and HDR.
To enhance user interaction with digital content, Apple Vision Pro introduces an innovative input system controlled by the user’s eyes, hands, and voice. When browsing apps, users can simply look at them, pinch their fingers to select, flick their wrists to scroll, or use dictation for input.
Details about the configuration of the upcoming Vision Standard Edition remain scarce. However, given its anticipated weight reduction, it is speculated that the device might feature a scaled-down hardware version of the Pro model, potentially leading to a lower price point.
