Wang Xingxing from Unitree: Pushing for Standardized Industry Norms, Unveiling Robot Implementation in Factories

February 28, 2026 – At the Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Standardization (HEIS) Annual Conference, Wang Xingxing, the founder and chairman of Unitree Robotics Co., Ltd., shared the company’s recent progress and future visions regarding humanoid robots.

Over the past few years, Unitree Robotics has been dedicated to deploying robots in industrial settings, with an ambitious goal of having humanoid robots manufacture other humanoid robots within its own factories. This self-replicating production model, if achieved, could mark a significant milestone in the robotics industry.

Wang Xingxing also provided insights into the current performance of humanoid robots. He stated that when trained properly, robots can achieve near-perfect success rates (close to 100%) in executing single tasks. However, their ability to plan and execute long, complex tasks still requires significant improvement, as the success rates in such scenarios are not as high.

He emphasized that stable and versatile movement capabilities are fundamental prerequisites for robots to perform practical tasks. Once robots can move reliably and handle a wide range of motions, their work will become more reproducible and consistent, enhancing their overall utility in real-world applications.

Regarding industry standardization, Wang highlighted the need for comprehensive standard systems covering efficiency, stability, and safety of robots. Unitree Robotics is eager to contribute actively to the development of these standards, believing that well-defined norms will foster healthy competition and drive the industry forward. Given that the robotics sector is still in its early stages, he stressed that only through constructive competition can the industry thrive and reach its full potential.
