September 1, 2026 – Vivo has announced that the X500 series, comprising the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max, will officially launch in September. The new lineup has now entered its pre-launch promotional phase.
Today, vivo product manager Han Boxiao reiterated that the imaging philosophy for the X500 series is “Photography is the first choice, while video is the only choice.”
He stated that, powered by the ZEISS Ultra-Dynamic Main Camera, the X500 Pro series will be the first to support industry-leading 4K 240fps highlight slow-motion video recording.
Compared to the standard 4K 30fps video specification, 4K 240fps captures eight times the number of time frames during recording, providing ample visual data for post-production slow-motion playback. This is particularly ideal for capturing split-second actions in travel and sports scenarios.
With the support of cinematic-grade main camera lenses, the X500 Pro series can balance high image quality, high resolution, and high frame rates, ensuring that slow-motion videos maintain superior clarity and detail.
Furthermore, building upon the 4K 240fps recording capability, vivo will also debut industry-first 4K 480fps and 4K 960fps creative slow-motion features.
Utilizing proprietary 4K frame interpolation algorithms and video curve variable-speed mapping algorithms, the device can achieve ultra-smooth 16x and 32x slow-motion playback while maintaining the 4K specification. This allows users to capture high-speed moments such as splashing liquids and bursting bubbles, significantly enhancing the visual impact of the footage.
In terms of imaging hardware, the vivo X500 Pro series will globally debut a ZEISS Ultra-Dynamic Main Camera exclusively co-developed by Blue River Imaging and Sony. It can output an industry-leading 17EV dynamic range, preserving more highlight and shadow details in complex scenes with high contrast and extreme lighting conditions.
Regarding performance, the vivo X500 will be equipped with the Dimensity 9600 chipset, while the X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max will feature the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
It is understood that the Dimensity 9600 series is built on TSMC’s 2nm N2P process. The CPU adopts a brand-new 2+3+3 architecture, consisting of two ultra-large cores and six performance cores. This marks the first time MediaTek’s Dimensity 9-series has introduced a dual ultra-large core design.
