January 22, 2025 – According to a recent report by Korean media outlet MTN, game developer NCSoft has scrapped its plans to develop a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on Sony’s PlayStation IP, “Horizon.” The game, internally coded as “Project H,” has been canceled following a “feasibility review.”
MTN’s report further revealed that NCSoft has halted the development of three games: Pantera, H (believed to be the Horizon MMO), and J. The developers of these projects were notified at the end of 2024 and early 2025 about the termination of development, and preparations are being made for internal transfers. Some of the canceled projects have already disappeared from the company’s organizational chart, indicating that development has indeed been completely halted.

Since the Horizon MMO game was never officially announced, it is unlikely that an official statement regarding the termination of its development will be released. However, this news undoubtedly spells trouble for Sony.
Last week, rumors surfaced that Sony PlayStation had also canceled an online service game based on “God of War,” which was being developed by Bluepoint, the studio responsible for the Demon’s Souls remake. Additionally, another online service game from Bend Studio, known for “Days Gone,” has also been scrapped.
