November 08, 2024 – Although the date of October 14, 2025, is still some time away, Microsoft is once again urging Windows 10 users to upgrade their systems. Recently, some netizens have discovered a similar prompt on the Windows system download page of Microsoft’s official website, urging Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11.
If users choose to stick with Windows 10, they will have to bear the consequences themselves, as Microsoft’s abandonment of support for the system will leave it vulnerable to attacks from hackers. It’s worth noting that Microsoft has also made some adjustments to the Windows download page. For instance, while it previously recommended that users prepare a USB flash drive, external hard drive, or DVD, it now only includes descriptions related to USB flash drives, with just a closing remark stating that “ISOs can also be used to create installation media on DVDs.”
This change aligns with the development of the times, as the frequency of ordinary users installing systems using DVDs has greatly decreased. As Microsoft continues its push for users to upgrade, it remains to be seen how many will choose to do so before the support for Windows 10 ends.
