Apple Retail Stores Downsize Vision Pro Displays to Showcase New M4 Macs

November 08, 2024 – According to a post by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg on the Thread platform today, some Apple retail stores have reduced the display space for the Vision Pro headset.

Gurman stated that starting tomorrow, Apple will begin to downsize the Vision Pro display areas in certain offline retail outlets to make room for the exhibition of new Mac products. Currently, most stores feature two Vision Pro demo tables: one for demonstrations and another for displaying models. However, this will be changed to just one table serving both purposes.

Two weeks prior to Gurman’s announcement, technology news outlet The Information reported that Apple had decreased the production of the Vision Pro headset and speculated that the company might halt its production completely by the end of 2024. Some factories have reduced the manufacturing of Vision Pro components since May based on sales expectations, and the media outlet predicts that Apple’s sales for this year will be less than 500,000 units.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple plans to introduce a successor to the Vision Pro in 2025, featuring a new headset equipped with a faster M5 chip. Additionally, Apple is developing a more affordable version of the Vision Pro, although there are discrepancies among various sources regarding its release date.
