HP Appoints Former Apple CPO Carol Surface to Lead Its Human Resources

January 21, 2025 – HP announced on the 15th local time in California, USA, that former Apple Chief Human Resources Officer Carol Surface will officially join HP on March 24th, continuing to serve in the same capacity and succeeding Kristen Ludgate, who is set to retire.

Previously, Carol Surface held the newly established position of independent Chief Human Resources Officer at Apple from March 2023 to December 2024, reporting directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Before joining Apple, Carol Surface held various senior human resources positions, including serving as a Human Resources Executive at PepsiCo from May 2000 to February 2010, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Best Buy from March 2010 to September 2013, and Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at medical technology giant Medtronic from September 2013 to March 2023.

HP stated in the press release:
