April 23, 2024 – According to a report released by Consumer Reports last week, Tesla stands out as the most affordable automobile brand in terms of maintenance and repair costs over a ten-year period in the US. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has cited this report, emphasizing that Tesla vehicles have the lowest maintenance costs.
The report reveals that within the first five years, Tesla’s maintenance costs amount to only 580 USD (approximately 4200 RMB). Furthermore, the total maintenance costs for Tesla vehicles range up to 4305 USD over a 5-10 year period, making it the most economical brand on the list.
Interestingly, the report highlights that among the top five automotive brands with the lowest maintenance costs, four are American companies: Tesla, Buick, Lincoln, and Ford. Toyota, a non-American brand, secured the third spot on the list.
The head of Consumer Reports’ data analysis project stated that maintenance and repair costs for different car brands can vary by thousands of dollars over a decade. Additionally, he pointed out that luxury car models often become increasingly expensive to maintain as time passes.
