August 10, 2024 – Graham Carroll, the Business Development Lead for Tesla Semi in the US, has announced that the company is “taking steps to bring the Semi to Europe.” This move is evidenced by the posting of job openings for similar positions in Europe on Tesla’s recruitment website.
Specifically, Tesla is seeking a “Semi Truck EMEA Business Development Lead” to be stationed in either Amsterdam or Berlin. This development aligns with previous statements made by Elon Musk in February of this year, where he expressed the belief that “it makes sense to produce the Semi truck at the Gigafactory in Berlin, Europe.”
Currently, the Tesla Semi is only available in the US market to a select few customers, including PepsiCo. It has been found that PepsiCo ordered the all-electric Semi trucks in 2017, making them the first company to embrace this innovative technology. Other notable reservations include UPS and food distribution company Sysco, while retailer Walmart is already testing alternative products.
The expansion of Tesla Semi into the European market marks a significant milestone in the company’s global strategy and its commitment to sustainability. With the increasing demand for eco-friendly transportation solutions, this move is expected to further solidify Tesla’s position as a leader in the electric vehicle industry.
