February 13, 2025 – Making a splashy appearance during the Super Bowl, Jeep’s new electric SUV, the Recon EV, marked its latest preview. Positioned as the second electric SUV from the brand, the Recon EV is targeted squarely at the American market. Jeep first teased this model in 2022, framing it as a key component of their strategy to become a leading electric SUV brand in North America and Europe.
According to reports from Electrek, the Recon EV is designed from the ground up for off-road adventures, equipped with Jeep’s signature 4×4 system. Jeep promises that this will be its first electric SUV with true off-roading capabilities.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Wrangler series, the Recon EV offers optional features like removable doors and windows. This allows for a silent, yet thrilling open-air driving experience that’s perfect for extreme explorations.

The Recon EV turns heads with its bold Punk’n Orange body color, complemented by a black roof and the absence of doors, giving it a dynamic and eye-catching look.
Jeep plans to officially launch the Recon EV later this year, and as the release date approaches, several test models have already been spotted. Built on the STLA Large platform, which underlies Jeep’s first electric SUV, the Wagoneer S, the Recon EV is expected to have a range exceeding 300 miles.
While Jeep has not yet disclosed the pricing for the Recon EV, industry experts predict a starting price of around $60,000, positioning it slightly below the brand’s flagship electric SUV, the Wagoneer S.
