February 14, 2025 – Apple CEO Tim Cook has officially announced that the “newest member of the Apple family” will arrive on February 19th, hinting at the upcoming release of the new iPhone SE 4 (unnamed) and possibly other products such as the iPad 11 and AirTag 2.
According to various leaked reports, the iPhone SE 4 is poised to undergo a significant design transformation. It is rumored to adopt a notch display similar to the iPhone 14, supporting Face ID and eliminating the Home button that has been a staple for three generations. The screen is expected to be upgraded to a 6.1-inch OLED panel, maintaining the basic level of resolution and refresh rate (60Hz).

Under the hood, the iPhone SE 4 is reported to be equipped with the same A18 chip (second-generation 3nm process) as the iPhone 16, coupled with 8GB of RAM to support Apple’s Intelligence features. This will mark the first entry-level iPhone to offer AI capabilities.
Another notable change is the rumored adoption of Apple’s proprietary 5G baseband, which may initially only support Sub-6GHz frequency bands. However, this represents a crucial step for Apple in reducing its dependence on Qualcomm.
In terms of camera specifications, the rear single camera is expected to be upgraded to a 48-megapixel sensor with support for computational photography optimizations. Additionally, the device is rumored to fully transition to a USB-C port, aligning with European Union regulations.
The estimated starting price for the iPhone SE 4 is set at $499, which is approximately 16% higher than its predecessor. Despite the increase, it is still positioned as the most affordable model in Apple’s product line.
