December 9, 2024 – The global sales rankings for new energy vehicle (NEV) brands in October 2024 have been released by CleanTechnica, with Chinese brands dominating the top 20 list.
In this month’s rankings, Chinese brands stood out particularly, occupying thirteen of the top twenty spots. German brands, including Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, secured three positions, while the remaining spots were divided among Korean, European, Japanese, and American brands.
BYD led the pack with sales of 483,000 vehicles, accounting for a remarkable 27.7% of the global market share. This figure even surpassed the combined sales of the brands ranked from second to ninth.
Tesla followed closely in second place, with sales reaching 122,000 vehicles and a market share of 7.0%.
The strong performance of Chinese brands in the global NEV market underscores the country’s growing influence and competitiveness in the clean energy sector.
