December 9, 2024 – Steam, the PC gaming platform owned by Valve, has set a new record with over 39 million concurrent online users, peaking at 39,205,447 today. This figure represents an increase of 839,815 users compared to the 38 million users recorded three months ago.
In the past 24 hours, the most popular game on Steam was Counter-Strike 2, with over 1 million concurrent players. Close behind was Dota 2.
Notably, the newly released Path of Exile 2 successfully secured the third spot. Another newcomer, Marvel Snap, also made a strong showing, attracting 450,000 concurrent players on its first free-to-play day.
Besides these newcomers, several established titles such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Rust, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Call of Duty continue to maintain their popularity.
