October 14, 2024 – The Audi Q6 E-tron family has expanded with the introduction of a new Sportback variant, featuring a more slanted roofline that not only enhances its sporty appearance but also boosts the maximum range.
Drawing inspiration from the first-generation Audi TT, the new Q6 E-tron Sportback’s roofline extends at an aggressive angle to a small spoiler. This design contributes to a reduction in the vehicle’s drag coefficient from 0.28 to 0.26, resulting in a 15-mile increase in range for the Performance model, which now reaches 408 miles.

However, the slanted roofline comes with a tradeoff, as it slightly reduces the Sportback’s trunk capacity from 526 liters in the standard Q6 E-tron to 511 liters.
The Q6 Sportback SUV offers a choice of four powertrains and two battery packs. The entry-level model is equipped with a 75.8-kWh (usable capacity) battery and a single electric motor that delivers up to 248 horsepower (bhp) to the rear wheels. It provides a range of 339 miles (approximately 545.57 kilometers) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, with a charging power of up to 225 kW.
Stepping up to the Q6 Sportback Performance model, it features a larger 94.9-kWh (usable) battery and a more powerful 302-bhp electric motor. This configuration increases the range to 408 miles, reduces the 0-to-100 km/h acceleration time to 6.6 seconds, and supports a charging power of up to 260 kW.
For those seeking even more power, the Quattro versions come with the same battery pack and an additional front electric motor, boosting the total power output to 382 bhp. This allows the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
At the top of the range is the SQ6 Sportback, packing a punch with 482 horsepower and quattro all-wheel drive. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, although its range is slightly reduced to 377 miles (approximately 606.72 kilometers). Both Quattro models of the Audi Q6 Sportback can be charged at a power of 270 kW.
Inside, the new Sportback variant remains largely unchanged from the Q6 SUV, featuring an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, with an optional 10.9-inch passenger-side display.
The Q6 E-tron Sportback is set to arrive in British showrooms next April, with prices starting at £62,475. This represents a £2,500 increase over the equivalent version of the standard Q6, while the top-of-the-line SQ6 Sportback commands a price of £95,450.
