November 22, 2024 – According to the latest data from market research firm CIRP, Apple’s base model iPhones accounted for 42% of total iPhone sales this year. However, it’s worth noting that the iPhone Pro Max remains the best-selling single model.
Apple sells several generations of its base model iPhones at different price points, while only offering the current generation of Pro and Pro Max models. This means that the 42% share represents the combined sales of multiple iPhone generations.
Looking at individual models, the iPhone Pro Max captured 26% of sales, followed by the Pro at 19%, and the Plus at 13%. The Plus model has particularly stood out, surpassing the market share of the iPhone mini since it replaced the latter in 2022.
Furthermore, the data highlights a clear preference among consumers for larger screens, with the combined sales of Plus and Pro Max models now accounting for 39% of total sales.
CIRP also emphasized that both the Plus and Pro Max models significantly contribute to the average selling price and gross margin of iPhones.
It’s important to note that these figures do not include sales of Apple’s entry-level iPhone SE.
