November 22, 2024 – According to a recent report published by Bloomberg, Apple is currently developing a more intelligent version of Siri, dubbed internally as “LLM Siri,” with plans to release it in 2026.
The new Siri is said to utilize an “advanced large language model,” significantly enhancing its capabilities and allowing it to compete more effectively with chatbots like ChatGPT. Apple aims for this updated Siri to engage in continuous dialogue, responding to user inquiries in a more human-like manner, ultimately improving the user experience.
Among the key strengths of the revamped Siri are its ability to facilitate smoother communication, reduce response times, handle complex problems more efficiently, and integrate a cutting-edge language model, thereby significantly boosting its intelligence.
Currently, Apple is testing this new Siri on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, with plans to eventually replace the existing Siri. Rumors suggest that Apple might unveil this updated Siri alongside the iOS 19 system at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2025.
While the current plan is for Siri’s update to go live in the spring of 2026, the specific timing remains flexible.
