Apple iPhone 16 Rumored to Feature Vertical Cameras, Action Button, and Pressure-Sensitive Shutter

March 07, 2024 – In a recent tweet, prominent leaker Majin Bu revealed CAD renderings of the upcoming Apple iPhone 16, hinting at three significant design changes that are set to revolutionize the smartphone market.

Firstly, the CAD renderings suggest a radical redesign of the iPhone 16’s camera island, which is now expected to feature a vertical camera arrangement. This marks a departure from the horizontal camera setup seen in previous iPhone models and could potentially offer improved photography capabilities.

Secondly, the iPhone 16 is rumored to incorporate the “Action Button” found on the Pro models. This addition indicates that the traditional silent switch could be phased out, as the Action Button takes on its functionality. The Action Button, introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, offers a more versatile and customizable control experience.

Lastly, there’s an exciting new development in the form of a dedicated camera button. Initially reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman to be exclusively for video recording, recent rumors suggest that it will also support capturing static images. Furthermore, this button might incorporate pressure-sensitive technology, similar to that found in DSLR cameras, allowing users to adjust the focus by varying the pressure applied.

These potential changes, if implemented, could significantly enhance the iPhone 16’s usability and photography capabilities, solidifying its position as a leading player in the smartphone market. However, it remains to be seen how these rumored features will be received by consumers and critics alike.
