Intel Shakes Up Leadership: Product CEO Holthaus Exits Amid High – Profile Appointments

September 9, 2025 – On the 8th (local time in California, the U.S.), Intel made a series of high – level personnel appointments and also announced the departure of a key executive. Michelle Johnston Holthaus, the former CEO of Intel Products, is set to leave the company.

Intel has appointed official general managers for its two major product branches: the Data Center Group (DCG) and the Client Computing Group (CCG). Kevork Kechichian, the former executive vice president of engineering at Arm, has been tapped to lead the DCG department. Meanwhile, Jim Johnson, an internal candidate at Intel, has transitioned from an interim role to become the permanent head of the CCG team.

In addition, Intel has established a new Central Engineering Group (CEG). This department will take charge of cross – functional engineering tasks and also handle custom chip business for external clients. Srinivasan Iyengar, who was poached by Lip – Bu Tan (Chen Liwu) from his previous employer Cadence, will lead the CEG.

Intel has also revamped the management structure of its foundry business. After being put in charge of technology development and manufacturing operations, Vice President Naga Chandrasekaran will now also oversee the foundry services business. He will receive work reports from Kevin O’Buckley, the general manager of foundry services.
