Stellantis Unveils STLA Frame: A Versatile Platform for Full-Size Pickups and SUVs

November 20, 2024 – Stellantis has unveiled its third multi-energy platform, named STLA Frame, specifically designed for full-size body-on-frame pickup trucks and SUVs.

According to the company, the STLA Frame platform aims to deliver class-leading range, with a range-extending electric vehicle (REEV) capable of reaching up to 1,100 kilometers and a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) version offering an 800-kilometer range. Additionally, it boasts a maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms) and a payload capacity of 2,700 pounds (1,224 kilograms). The platform also supports a water wading depth of up to 24 inches (610 millimeters).

Stellantis has equipped the STLA Frame with a front and rear electric drive module (EDM) all-wheel drive system rated at 250 kW, providing a 0-60 miles per hour acceleration time of just 4.4 seconds. The company noted that the STLA Frame can also accommodate future gasoline, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Furthermore, the STLA Frame supports fast charging and bidirectional charging capabilities. For BEV models, an 800V DC fast charger can provide up to 350 kW of power, adding 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. For REEV models, a 400V DC fast charger can add 50 miles of range in 10 minutes at a maximum power of 175 kW.
