December 11, 2023 – Sony Semiconductor’s subsidiary, the “Lytia” brand, has unveiled a new image sensor – the LYT-900.
According to the official poster, this sensor boasts a 1-inch size and features an impressive 50 million pixels with a pixel size of 1.6μm.
Based on these specifications, it remains unclear which flagship smartphones will incorporate this sensor. Tech blogger @WHYLAB suggests that the new 1-inch sensor is likely to be found in the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra and OPPO Find X7 Pro.
Previously, OPPO and OnePlus had both introduced Sony’s Lytia LYT-T808 and LYT-808 image sensors, which featured 50MP resolution and a 1/1.4-inch sensor size. It’s worth noting that Sony’s Lytia branding tends to indicate higher-end sensors as the model numbers increase.
