Siri’s New Features Postponed by Apple, Disclaimer Added to iPhone 16 Page

March 13, 2025 – Apple’s Highly Anticipated Siri Enhancements in Apple Intelligence Face Indefinite Delay

Apple Inc. has quietly pulled a YouTube ad showcasing new “personal context” features for Siri, which were once touted as a major highlight of the upcoming iPhone 16 series. Over the weekend, the tech giant added a disclaimer on its iPhone marketing page, addressing the unreleased Siri functionalities that promised to significantly elevate user experience.

The innovative Siri features, designed to streamline daily tasks, would have allowed users to effortlessly retrieve information mentioned in conversations with friends and family, such as flight numbers or book recommendations, across applications like Messages and Mail. Additionally, a “screen-aware” capability would enable users to perform actions directly within the current app. For instance, while browsing photos, users could simply instruct Siri, “Edit this photo to make it more vibrant,” and the task would be completed instantly.

Rumors of development challenges had circulated previously, but Apple officially confirmed the postponement in a statement last Friday. “We require more time than anticipated to bring these features to life, and they are expected to roll out gradually over the coming year,” the statement read, without providing a specific timeline.

Similarly vague, yet worded differently, is the latest consumer notice on Apple’s website. It states, “Siri’s personal context understanding, screen awareness, and in-app operations are under development and will be available in future software updates.” This disclaimer now appears on product pages for the iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPad, among others. Previously, these features were promoted without any indication of their unreleased status, a practice Apple seems keen to rectify.

Although Apple hasn’t specified a release date for the updates, industry speculation suggests they may arrive with a future version of iOS 19. The first developer beta of iOS 19 is anticipated to be unveiled at the WWDC conference in June this year.
