January 13, 2025 – Despite facing numerous challenges in the Chinese market, Ford Motor Company still managed to earn approximately $600 million in profits last year, according to CEO Jim Farley.
Speaking at the Detroit Auto Show after unveiling a new car, Farley expressed his pride in Ford’s performance in China. “I’m pleased to report that Ford is profitable in China, and I’m proud of that because not every automaker can achieve this,” he stated.
The CEO revealed that part of these profits came from the export of the Lincoln Nautilus, a model exclusively produced in China and exported to other markets, including the United States.

As competition intensifies in the Chinese market for traditional Western automakers like Ford and General Motors, Farley emphasized that Ford’s “light asset” strategy in China is making progress. Although Ford does not disclose revenues by region, the CEO’s comments suggest that the company is adapting well to the changing market dynamics.
Interestingly, Farley mentioned last October that he had been driving a Xiaomi SU7 electric vehicle for the past six months and was highly satisfied with its performance and design. “I’ve been driving this EV for the last six months, and I can’t praise its performance and design enough,” he said.
