Gurman Reveals: Apple’s iPad 11 to Upgrade with 8GB RAM and A17 Pro Chip for Apple Intelligence Support

January 13, 2025 – According to the latest scoop by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the next-generation entry-level iPad is set to embrace the AI feature suite of Apple Intelligence.

Insights from the report reveal that the iPad 11 will undergo two significant upgrades to accommodate Apple Intelligence: the integration of the A17 Pro chip and an increase in memory to 8GB. These advancements will align the iPad 11’s chip and unified memory capabilities with the most recent iPad mini. Gurman anticipates the release of the iPad 11 model this “spring”.

Prior to this, Gurman had affirmed that the new generation of iPhone SE and iPad are being developed based on iOS 18.3. However, this does not necessarily imply a concurrent release; rather, they are expected to be launched before the release of iOS 18.4, which is slated for April.

For reference, the current iPad 10, introduced in October 2022, sports an A14 chip, a 10.9-inch 2360 x 1640 resolution 60Hz IPS screen, a 12MP rear camera, a 12MP front camera, and a 28.6 watt-hour battery. The model is priced at 2999 yuan and upwards in the Chinese market.
