June 04, 2024 – On June 3rd, ByteDance announced through its official TikTok website that John Rogovin has been appointed as the company’s Global General Counsel.
Prior to his departure in 2022, Rogovin served as the General Counsel at Warner Bros. for over twelve years, overseeing the studio’s legal affairs worldwide. This encompassed Warner Bros.’ film and television production and distribution across 135 countries. During his tenure, he provided legal support for all of the studio’s operations, including intellectual property, litigation, privacy, compliance, regulatory enforcement, and mergers and acquisitions.
Earlier in his career, Rogovin held various positions, including being a partner in two top international law firms where he specialized in litigation and regulatory proceedings. He also served as the General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission and as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Department of Justice’s Civil Division.
