May 21, 2024 – Storage solutions provider AGI has announced its participation in the upcoming COMPUTEX 2024, scheduled to take place from June 4 to 7 in Taipei. The company, known for its innovative storage products, plans to unveil several new additions to its line-up at the international computer exhibition.
One of the most notable revelations from AGI this year is the industry-first 16TB Host Memory Buffer (HMB) solid-state drive (SSD). This groundbreaking technology allows SSDs without external caching to leverage a portion of the host’s memory to enhance performance, emerging as a prevalent trend in the non-caching storage segment.
While HMB technology has made significant strides, SSDs utilizing this technique still lag in performance compared to those with onboard cache memory. Currently, the maximum capacity generally available for this type of SSD on the market is 4TB, with 8TB models being increasingly rare.
In addition to the 16TB HMB SSD, AGI will showcase several other cutting-edge products at COMPUTEX 2024. This includes the world’s first 2TB microSD card, the TURBOJET RGB series DDR5 memory, the EDM38 portable SSD with MagSafe magnetic connection, and an 8TB SATA SSD. These innovations are expected to attract significant attention from industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.
