February 28, 2025 – The auction market has always been a hotbed for Apple’s unique products, vintage devices, prototypes, and documents bearing Steve Jobs’ autograph, often fetching prices in the thousands of dollars. According to a report by MacRumors, RR Auction has kicked off a new round of auctions featuring Apple classics today.

One of the highlights of this auction is a fully functional Apple-1 computer, nicknamed “Bayville,” which is expected to fetch up to $300,000. This particular device, ranked 91st in the Apple-1 registry, is a rare find. The Apple-1, introduced by Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, is now extremely scarce.
The “Bayville” Apple-1 is well-preserved, featuring clear labels and no peeling on its circuit board. It even comes with an original manual containing handwritten notes from Daniel Kottke, an early Apple employee who was the company’s 12th hire.

In addition, two checks signed by Steve Jobs are expected to sell for over 25,000,whilearareAppleIIcomputerequippedwithaRev.0logicboardandacasewithoutventilationholescouldfetchupto30,000.
The auction also includes several Apple prototypes, with one of the most notable being a Macintosh Portable with a transparent case. Released in 1989, this laptop was Apple’s first battery-powered portable computer. However, due to its hefty weight of over 16 pounds (approximately 7.26 kilograms) and high price tag, it didn’t perform well in the market, making it a rare find. The prototype with a transparent case is even rarer, and it is expected to sell for over $50,000.
Furthermore, EVT or PVT versions of the iPod Classic, iMac G3, Power Mac G4 Cube, Power Macintosh, and Macintosh TV will also be on the auction block, with each expected to fetch prices in the thousands of dollars.
