December 2, 2024 – Tesla appears to be ramping up its promotion for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, evident in the recent addition of a dedicated section on its U.S. vehicle order page showcasing FSD videos in real-world driving situations.
Previously, Tesla’s order page only featured a list of FSD capabilities and graphical representations of the system’s abilities. However, the updated page now includes 13 FSD videos captured in real-world settings, providing a clear demonstration of how the system navigates from one location to another.
The incorporation of these authentic FSD videos serves to educate more consumers about the capabilities of this advanced driver assistance system. Tesla also clarifies on the order page that the current version of FSD does not yet achieve full autonomy, stating that vehicles equipped with the system can “drive almost anywhere with minimal driver intervention” when activated.
Tesla has been utilizing real-world videos to promote FSD in recent times. Not long ago, the company shared 16 videos on social media platform X, highlighting how FSD (Supervised) V12.5.6.3 handles dangerous edge cases. According to Ashok Elluswamy, Tesla’s Vice President of AI Software, these videos were inspired by events encountered by the company’s fleet in the real world.
It’s worth noting that Tesla recently rolled out FSD (Supervised) V13.2 to its first non-employee users, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with users describing its performance as impressive.
