Lamborghini Unveils First-Ever Hybrid Urus for 2024 Release

February 16, 2024 – Lamborghini has unveiled an ambitious new product roadmap, announcing that its first-ever plug-in hybrid version of the Urus super SUV is slated for release in 2024.

Spy shots obtained by the media reveal a radical redesign for the hybrid Urus, featuring a bold new front fascia with an oversized intake grille that amps up its aggressive styling. The headlights have also received subtle tweaks, appearing rounder and more technologically advanced.

From the side, the new hybrid model retains the sleek, coupe-like silhouette of the current Urus, with its signature sloping roofline and powerful stance. At the rear, a redesigned rear spoiler and taillights hint at the updated styling, though heavy camouflage obscures most of the details. Notably, the signature quad-exhaust setup remains intact.

Inside, the PHEV Urus sports subtle changes to the dashboard, including elegant silver accents framing the infotainment screen. According to reports, the new infotainment system will include hybrid-specific information displays. Additionally, a larger screen positioned below the center stack replaces the previous setup, while the controls between the two screens have been updated with a more refined toggle switch design. The air vents have also been restyled.

Details about the powertrain remain scarce, but rumors suggest that the hybrid Urus will pair a 4.0-liter V8 engine with an electric motor for a combined output exceeding 700 horsepower. It is also rumored to feature a 17.9kWh battery pack, providing an electric-only range of approximately 50 kilometers.

Lamborghini’s decision to embrace electrification aligns with the broader trend in the automotive industry towards sustainable mobility solutions. The introduction of the hybrid Urus marks a significant milestone in the Italian automaker’s journey towards a greener future while staying true to its legacy of creating high-performance, luxury vehicles.
