BYD Officially Enters Korean Passenger Car Market with ATTO 3 Pure Electric SUV

January 16, 2025 – BYD has announced its entry into the Korean market with the launch of its pure electric SUV model, the ATTO 3 (Yuan PLUS), at a media conference held in Jung-gu, Incheon today, according to Yonhap News Agency. The ATTO 3 is now open for reservations and will be delivered to customers from the middle of next month.

The ATTO 3 comes in two versions, the standard ATTO 3 and the ATTO 3 Plus, both equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 60.48 kilowatt-hours (kWh). The vehicle offers a driving range of 321 kilometers on a single charge under normal temperature conditions, and the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. With a maximum power of 150 kilowatts and a peak torque of 310 Newton meters (N・m), the ATTO 3 has a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 7.3 seconds.

Pricing for the ATTO 3 starts at 31 million Korean won, while the ATTO 3 Plus is priced at around 33 million Korean won. BYD Korea plans to introduce two additional electric vehicles this year, the compact electric passenger car “Seal” and the electric SUV “SEALION 7”. These models are expected to be available in the market in the early part of the second half of this year, with the specific timing to be determined.

According to Chao Renzhe, the representative of BYD Korea’s passenger vehicle division, the company will showcase its new vehicles at the Seoul Mobility Show in April this year.
