February 18, 2024 – Voigtlander has announced the release of its COLOR-SKOPAR 18mm F2.8 Aspherical wide-angle lens, compatible with Fujifilm’s X-series APS-C cameras via the X-mount.
With an effective focal length equivalent to the widely used 28mm wide-angle focal length in the APS-C format, this lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of 0.17m. It features electronic contacts for the Fujifilm X-mount, along with a focus distance indicator on the lens barrel, providing quick focusing capabilities ideal for street photographers.
The COLOR-SKOPAR 18mm F2.8 Aspherical lens sports a 5-group, 7-element design that incorporates a double-sided aspherical element and a Voigtlander Super Low Dispersion element. Measuring 23.5mm in length and weighing just 115g, this compact and lightweight lens offers a 10-blade aperture diaphragm for smooth bokeh and precise aperture control with 1/3-stop increments on the aperture ring.
Available in both silver and black finishes, the lens comes complete with a black lens hood. Scheduled for release in February 2024, pricing details for the COLOR-SKOPAR 18mm F2.8 Aspherical remain undisclosed at this time.
