Other nominated candidates included Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA.
CNN Business disclosed that since 2018, their team of writers and editors has convened annually to nominate a CEO who has demonstrated high-quality leadership and management skills. The criteria for making this decision change each year, reflecting the influence of emerging trends, such as this year’s focus on generative AI.
In 2023, Microsoft’s CEO Nadella made significant investments, amounting to billions of dollars, in AI. He successfully commercialized AI tools like ChatGPT and integrated them into Microsoft’s product suite ahead of competitors. His ability to respond to crises swiftly, calmly, and thoughtfully also left the industry in awe. Under his leadership, Microsoft, after years of Windows success, is reemerging as a technology innovator.
