July 31, 2026 – ByteDance has officially rolled out its next-generation AI video creation model, Seedance 2.5, with gradual deployments underway across its in-house platforms including Dreamina AI and Doubao Pro, while its public API service is scheduled to go live on Volcano Ark in the near future.
Breaking the previous 15-second native generation limit of its predecessor, Seedance 2.5 now delivers a single continuous 30-second high-fidelity video clip in one inference pass, with multi-round seamless extension support that lets creators produce minutes-long coherent content with a unified audio-visual style, eliminating the disjointed stitching work that plagued earlier AI video workflows. The model has also undergone targeted optimizations for shot transitions and scene continuity, alongside major upgrades to image clarity, audio fidelity and motion rendering, effectively cutting down the over-processed “plastic-like” visual artifacts that have long been a common pain point in generative video outputs.

On the multimodal reference front, Seedance 2.5 allows users to upload up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio files in a single generation request. It has also enhanced support for white-box 3D model references, motion trajectory alignment and creative style matching, enabling it to accurately interpret complex creative briefs and deliver outputs with multiple distinct characters, shifting scenes and dynamic camera movements that were far harder to pull off with earlier versions.
For professional creators, the new model adds precise timestamp-based editing controls that let users modify targeted segments of the video without regenerating the entire clip, drastically boosting workflow efficiency and creative controllability. It has also strengthened specialized editing features including green screen matting, perspective adjustment and reference-guided fine-tuning, making it fully capable of meeting the rigorous demands of complex production scenarios in film, television, commercial advertising and other professional creative fields.
