May 26 2025 – According to Bloomberg’s tech journalist Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up for a series of significant announcements at its upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), scheduled to kick off on June 9. One of the most anticipated highlights of the event is the anticipated overhaul of the visual design across several of Apple’s operating systems.
In his latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman revealed that in addition to the previously rumored major redesigns of iOS 19 and macOS 16, both watchOS and tvOS are also set to undergo notable visual revamps. Even visionOS, Apple’s virtual reality operating system, is expected to receive some enhancements.

This move indicates that Apple’s new, modern design language will extend across all its device software platforms, aiming to achieve visual consistency and uniformity across its operating systems. Users can anticipate a broader application of transparent and glass-like design elements throughout these systems.
While watchOS has seen multiple updates over the years, tvOS has largely retained its original design since its launch in 2015, resulting in a significant visual divergence from the design language adopted by iOS. However, with Apple’s push for unified visual design across all platforms, this gap is expected to be bridged. This upcoming update is poised to be the most extensive visual overhaul of Apple’s operating systems since the introduction of iOS 7.
The opening keynote of WWDC25 is slated to take place at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on June 9, marking the start of what promises to be an exciting event for Apple enthusiasts and developers alike.
