October 12, 2026 – Huawei has disclosed new technical details about its Ruiying Z10 module camera, confirming that the device uses a Hisilicon-developed 1-inch 50MP RYYB sensor. The module was launched on October 1 alongside the Mate 90 series and is positioned as a detachable optical system rather than a conventional telephoto extender.
The Z10, codenamed “Jingang,” integrates a 24–240mm continuous 10x optical zoom lens built from six lens groups and 19 glass elements, with a variable aperture of F2.0–F4.5. It also carries a third-generation Red Maple color sensor, laser autofocus and anti-flicker sensors. The module has no independent ISP; raw image data is transmitted back to the phone, where the Kirin SoC and XMAGE pipeline handle processing.

Huawei said the module supports CIPA 7.0-level stabilization through distributed OIS and close coordination with the Kirin chip. Its HyperClick mount allows tool-free attachment and is available in H1 and H2 variants for the Mate 90 Pro Max Ultimate Edition and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. A SmallRig adapter ring enables 77mm filter compatibility. The standard version is priced at 5,999 yuan, while the collector’s bundle costs 19,499 yuan.
Huawei has filed 76 patents related to the module, covering product definition, appearance, imaging, hardware architecture, structure and antenna design. The company also indicated that Hisilicon’s self-developed sensor lineup now includes 1-inch, 1/1.3-inch, 1/1.56-inch and 1/2.5-inch solutions, with a 200MP sensor still under development.
