Where Winds Meet to Support NVIDIA DLSS 5 in November, Becoming China’s First Title

October 13, 2026 – NetEase’s open-world wuxia title Where Winds Meet will officially support NVIDIA DLSS 5 in November, making it the first game in China — and currently the only NetEase title — to run the technology.

The update follows months of joint tuning between NetEase and NVIDIA. DLSS 5, launched on September 4, 2026, introduces “3D-Guided Neural Rendering,” an AI model that enhances lighting and material detail frame by frame rather than simply upscaling resolution. The November build will use an updated DLSS 5 model that runs twice as fast as the September version, with 24% fewer parameters and 20% lower 4K VRAM usage.

Players should expect higher-fidelity fabric, skin, hair and environmental lighting in the game’s large open world. DLSS 5 does not replace the game’s art direction; developers can control structure intensity, tone intensity and per-pixel masks to preserve the intended style.

The feature requires a GeForce RTX 50-series GPU and will initially be offered as an opt-in early experience. RTX 40-series support has been discussed by NVIDIA for a later phase, but is not available at launch.
