October 12, 2026 – OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 16, its most aggressive performance flagship to date, with a starting price of 5,699 yuan and a subsidized entry price of 5,199 yuan. The phone is built around Qualcomm’s first 2nm flagship chip, a 185Hz display and a 9,000mAh battery, aiming squarely at heavy mobile gamers and users who want a long-term, no-compromise device.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Super Edition, Qualcomm’s first 2nm mobile platform, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage. OnePlus has also written a new “Fengchi” game kernel into the chip layer to prioritize GPU resources during sustained gaming. Official lab tests show the phone maintaining 185fps in Delta Force for three hours.

To support that frame rate, OnePlus introduced its self-developed “Esports Triple-Chip” suite: the P4 display chip for motion clarity, the T3 touch chip for lower input latency, and the G3 network chip for more stable connectivity. The 6.78-inch 1.5K “Eastern Screen” is co-developed with BOE, uses X4 emitters, supports global 165Hz and peaks at 185Hz in games.
Battery capacity is a major upgrade. The 9,000mAh Glacier battery is the largest ever in a OnePlus flagship, supported by 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The company claims the battery will retain at least 80% capacity after five years.
On imaging, the OnePlus 16 carries a 200MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide. It runs OPPO’s LUMO imaging system and emphasizes landscape photography, with “one shot, three crops” allowing users to reframe distant, mid-range and wide compositions from a single 200MP image.
The phone ships with ColorOS 17, adds AI Notes and AI Snap, and supports cross-device connections with Windows, Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch. It also carries IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance.
