Musk Secures New Office Space in SF Bay Area for Neuralink and xAI’s Big Move

October 18, 2025 – According to a report from the “San Francisco Business Times” on October 9 this month, Elon Musk has rented a five – story office building in the southern part of San Francisco. This building, with a total area of 144,000 square feet (about 13,378 square meters), is set to become the new home for Neuralink, a brain – computer interface company.

The rented building, located at 499 Forbes Blvd., was previously occupied by InterVenn Biosciences, a cancer detection firm. However, InterVenn Biosciences terminated its lease in 2023, and since then, the office space has remained vacant.

In addition, information from the “San Francisco Chronicle” reveals that Musk’s other company, xAI, is also on the lookout for a larger office space in the San Francisco Bay Area. If both companies successfully settle in, their combined office area will approach 400,000 square feet (about 37,161 square meters). This development indicates that “Musk – style innovation” is poised to make a comeback in Silicon Valley.

Neuralink, founded in 2016, focuses on the research and development of brain – computer interface technology. In 2023, it received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to launch human clinical trials. So far, some quadriplegic participants who have had the device implanted can control computers without using their hands, enabling them to surf the Internet, play games, and operate smart home systems.
