July 14, 2025 – A third – party e – commerce platform called Upgraded has rolled out an innovative “MacBook Renewal Program” for Apple MacBook consumers overseas. This program allows customers to enter into an agreement with the company and pay a minimum monthly fee starting from $33.28. Under this plan, they can get a brand – new MacBook every two years.

The core of this program is to split the cost of MacBook series products into 36 installments. For MacBook Air, the monthly usage fee starts at 33.28,whileforMacBookPro,itbeginsat52.17. After two years (completing 24 installments), users have two options. They can upgrade their device to the latest MacBook model for free and start a new 36 – installment payment cycle. Alternatively, they can continue paying the remaining 12 installments to permanently own the product in their hands.
In terms of profit – making, Upgraded claims that it purchases devices from Apple’s authorized partner GatorTec at prices lower than the retail level. By taking advantage of the price difference and the interest from installment payments, the company generates profits. This business model is similar to the “lease – to – buy” approach in the automotive industry.
